The arrival of your little bundle of joy is one of the most treasured blessings of life. At the same time, you may feel overawed at the thought of nurturing the little one perfectly and ensuring nothing goes wrong. Right from the moment a child is born, her/ his diet, food charts and what to is to be fed at different stages is one of the most delicate matters that overwhelms new parents, especially mothers.
You may also be showered with advises of the elders in the family, which may clash with what your little one’s paediatrician says. You may have to give due respect to the elders and make them feel you obey them, and yet strike a balance for your baby’s well-being by giving her/ him what is wholesome, safe and filling.

Tips:
1.To make fruit or vegetable puree , just steam the fruit or vegetable whole and mash it rather than cutting into small pieces and steaming. This will help to retain the nutrients in the fruit or veggie.
2. Every baby is different and so is the eating habit and quantity of food. Never force feed your baby.
3.Offer small (one to two spoons) soft feeds baby is still not used to having different variety of food. New food in big amounts result in constipation in most babies.Don’t panic. However offer enough fluids and introduce only one new food in three days to check whether it is suiting your baby.Go slow. Your baby will gain weight gradually.
